The community hall is currently closed as per the Government's current lockdown rules.

Pinewood Community Hall is owned and operated by Pinewood Parish Council.

The Hall is run by the Parish Council's Community Hall Management Committee which consists of:- Pinewood Parish Councillors: Cllr. Norman Smith (Chairman), Cllr. Robert Manning, Cllr. Jacqueline Preston, Cllr. Beryl Calver and Cllr. Adrian Rust. It is managed on a day to day basis by Parish Clerk and Hall Manager, Mrs Sandra Peartree.

The Community Hall is situated in Pinewood between the Baptist Church at Shepherd Drive and the Shopping Centre in Laburnum Close.

The Hall is open for private hire either via a regular club or activity or for a one-off party or celebration. Hiring of the hall is open to all and if you live in Pinewood or Sprites Ward in Ipswich then you will benefit from reduced hiring charges. .

The facility offers:-

MAIN HALL: To accommodate 300 seated (theatre style) and approx. 160 seated with tables and chairs and a stage.
LOUNGE/BAR The newly extended room seats approx. 60 - 80 people and is available for meetings daytime and evening when not in operation as a bar.
KITCHEN A fully equip kitchen which includes crockery, cutlery, oven, microwave and refrigerator and facitlites for making tea and coffee.
TOILETS Good sized male and female facilities with separate Babychange and a diabled toilet.
CAR PARKING There is car parking for 72 vehicles on the site which is shared with the users of the Church.
BUS STOPS for services 7,13,15 are located nearby.

PRIVATE HIRE FOR SATURDAY EVENING CELEBRATIONS

Please note that we do not take bookings for 13th - 21st Birthday parties.

When hiring the main hall on a Saturday/Sunday evening for birthday celebrations/wedding receptions etc.,a fully staffed bar is available at no extra cost if your adult numbers exceed 50 although this will be by prior arrangement and at the discretion of the Hall Manager as Designated Premises Supervisor within licensed hours. Please note that there is a minimum hire of four hours for this type of event.

For private celebrations we will set up the main hall for your event with stage (if required), tables and chairs leaving you to just decorate tables with cloths/table decorations etc., and the room with balloons and banners etc., - saving you valuable hiring time.

At the end of your party/event we just ask you to remove your decorations and bag up any left over food, we then clean and put away the furniture and clean the Hall after your event for you as part of the hire.

The lounge bar is available for meetings and selected events when not is use as a bar. Furniture is set out to your requirements.

The use of the kitchen if offered for the duration of your hire is shared with other hirers of the Hall and staff.

There is car parking on the site which is shared with the users of the Church which will cater for 72 cars. Bus stops for services 7,13,15 are nearby.

HALLS OWN EVENTS

BAR MEMBERSHIP

The Community Hall has a bar for which a membership scheme has been set up. The bar is open on a Friday night from 7.30pm - 11.30pm. To join the bar membership you must be over 18 years of age and be a resident in the local area. To join just come along any Friday night. There is entertainment at regular intervals which includes live singing acts and quiz nights.
